At Ladies Of Iron we take the craft seriously and want to share the creative process! While this site is mainly focused on jewelry, the heart of everything here is blacksmithing. In conjunction with www.SpruceForest.org, we will be holding all inclusive blacksmithing classes!

During the workshops we will use a coal forge to heat the metal to nearly 3000 degrees. We will use a variety of metal forming equipment ranging from “backyard” to “professional” level, so if you chose to pursue blacksmithing outside of this class you will have a better understanding of what to buy.

The classes will take place at the blacksmith shop at Spruce Forest in Grantsville, MD. Mike Edelman has over 22 years of metalworking experience and has come up with workshops that you will love!

Workshops will follow the CDC Covid safety guidelines for circumstances---no exceptions!!!

*Minimum age for a class is 13. An adult must also be signed up with anyone under 18.

What to expect day of: On the day of the workshop treat it like you are going to do a physical activity, because you are! Bring water and snacks and eat a good breakfast before you come! Be sure you are on time because if you miss information or demonstrations it is hard to catch up. DO NOT wear open toed shoes. Wear 100% cotton clothes and if you have long hair tie it back. Cotton jeans and a cotton t-shirt are a perfect outfit for this!

Cancellation policy: A full refund will be given 7 or more days before the class date. No refunds will be given for workshop cancellations with less than 7 days notice.
